Website Accessibility

Langdon College aims to make this website accessible to all users and as a result follows certain standards and guidelines to ensure that this site can be used as effectively and easily as possible by everyone.

The site has been designed to conform to many of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative's standards. We will continue to work towards this standard until we have achived the highest possible level of accessibility. You can find details about this standard using this link to the World Wide Web Consortium website (External Link).

Text Size

Using the Default or Large Text links at the top of every page, you can set the text size of this website to standard or large. Your prefered text size will be remembered when you return to this website (Please note that you must have cookies enabled for this to work).

You can also change the default text size of all websites that you view by changing the settings in your browser preferences. If you need help on how to do this, have a look at our detailed guide on how to do this on all major browsers

High Contrast

Using the High Contrast link at the top of every page, you can switch to a high contrast version of the website. Once in the high contrast version, you can switch back to the standard contrast version of the website by clicking the Default or Large Text link at the top of each page. The content of the high contrast version is identical to the standard contrast version, but the layout has been altered for ease of use.

External Links

We no longer open external links in a new window. While this is often seen as the more logical and accessible way of providing links to external sites, recent research - supported by the W3C - has shown opening extra windows for new content can actually be more disorientating.

As a result, we have taken the decision to open external links in the same browser - although all links will clearly be marked as external.

Viewing PDF Documents

Langdon College uses the industry standard PDF format to deliver many of its electronic documents online. If you do not already have it installed you will need to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader (free). (External Link)
